Climate Strides Hike
In partnership with Climate Strides LA, attendees laced up and headed up Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook for a morning hike designed to do what conference rooms rarely can: get people out of their seats, into nature, and into real conversation with each other. Speaker moments and participant discussions were woven into the trail itself, breaking the traditional panel format wide open.
What unfolded was something genuinely rare. Actors, producers, writers, journalists, environmental educators, and scientists moving together through the landscape, talking between trail stretches, discovering in real time how much they have to offer each other. A NASA researcher in conversation with a filmmaker. A climate fiction author walking alongside a journalist.
Speakers included Matt Scott of Project Drawdown, Dr. Brianna Pagán of NASA and Footprints Running, Kristy Drutman of Brown Girl Green, filmmaker Faith Briggs Rose, climate educator Lauren Bash, and Rachel Bouton of Grist.
The collaborations that sparked on that trail, between people who would never find themselves in the same room, are exactly the point. That's why we love colliding worlds!
