2025 Hollywood Climate Summit
Hollywood's largest gathering for climate action.
At a moment when climate initiatives faced new pressures and scrutiny, our community showed up with unprecedented force. The 2025 Hollywood Climate Summit brought together over 8,600 participants across all formats, with 2,116 in-person registrations spanning 39+ countries and 1,264 unique organizations. More than half of attendees were first-timers, a sign of a community that keeps growing. 57.5% of our livestream audience was international, maintaining a strong global connection.
Hosted at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater, the Summit brought together producers, directors, writers, actors, advocacy groups, scientists, gamers, and musicians for three days of conversation, connection, and action. 60% came from mainstream entertainment. 30% from nonprofit, education, and climate sectors.
Program Highlights
Conversations ranged from the cultural power of long-running television, exploring two decades of climate storytelling on Grey's Anatomy, to the electric energy of mass mobilization on screen, the nature-based solutions embedded in Jurassic World, gaming's untapped potential for climate engagement, and what community care looks like after the Los Angeles fires.
Messaging on the Stand put the fossil fuel industry's own storytelling on trial. Comedians, actors, and experts including author and activist Bill McKibben, Earthjustice's Adrian Martinez, and a cast of performers playing maniacal oil executives dissected the communication tactics used to deflect responsibility for climate catastrophe. Equal parts sharp and entertaining.
Impact Highlights
The Summit generated 2.5 billion+ media impressions and 80 million+ social media impressions.
90% of surveyed attendees said the event deepened their understanding of how to promote climate awareness through media and entertainment.
88% made meaningful professional connections.
