Atlanta Climate & Media

What happens when the people shaping culture in Georgia collaborate with the people fighting for climate justice?

At our private convening on October 25th in Atlanta, we worked alongside filmmakers and climate changemakers, as well as a coalition of incredible partners, to gather Atlanta’s film and climate community.

Program Highlights

- Dr. Marshall Shepherd, Yonasda Lonewolf, Kaiya Murphy, and Maya Penn explored subjects like AI data centers, climate, vulnerability and risk, energy justice, & youth activism

- Jamila Norman, Robyn Watson, Dr. Jazz Nicholson, and John Penn showed how food, film, music, and virtual production can drive climate solutions

- Surprise performance by award-winning spoken word artist ALLORA

- Daniel Blackman, Ashna Khanna, and Suzan Satterfield unpacked who controls the narrative around energy in Georgia—and how the creative community can help reclaim it

- Interactive ‘Climate Context’ workshop helped our coalition members apply climate to their own work
