Climate Week NYC 2024
An Evening Dissecting Climate Disinformation Past and Present
The Hollywood Climate Summit took over New York for an evening filled with political thrillers, disinformation, and climate comedy.
The night kicked off with a private screening of The White House Effect, a feature documentary that uses exclusively archival material to tell the origin story of the climate crisis and how a political battle inside the George H.W. Bush administration changed the course of history.
Then, remarks from Former Vice President Al Gore before a conversation with film director Jon Shenk, producer Noah Stahl, climate activist Saad Amer, and climate columnist Melissa Jun Rowley.
The second program presented by Drilled Media, The 'Mad Men' of Big Oil a comedic investigative journalism experience that unpacked the disinformation tactics from Big Oil's playbook? Hosted by Amy Westervelt of Drilled Media, alongside writers and comedians Josh Gondelman, Yamaneika Saunders, and journalist Juan Manuel Benitez delivering hot takes that were equal parts hilarious and infuriating.
Guests connected at the end of the evening over a plant-based reception featuring Rebel Cheese, Pure Grit BBQ, Healthy As A Motha Vegan Kitchen, BetrBrgr, and Vegan Wines.
